Chinese smartphone brand Realme continues to create awareness around the release of its brainchild Realme GT 2 Pro. In mid-December, it was announced that a new smartphone from the Realme GT 2 Pro range would be unveiled before the end of 2021. Interest in it was fuelled by the fact that the novelty promises to be the second Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor device on the market.
However, the full-scale unveiling was postponed for a while, limiting itself to an online presentation of some of the options the smartphone supports. One of the announced innovations is the use of recycled components as materials for the gadget. At the same time, representatives from Realme spoke separately about manufacturers excluding the charger from the smartphone’s package. Such a decision in no way indicates the environmental friendliness of the products, the company stressed.
The back cover of the flagship device will be made from bio-based raw materials. The material has successfully passed tests, confirming its impact resistance and ability to withstand high temperatures. It is not out of the question that it will become a major component of smartphones in the next decade. Realme hopes that other brands will follow in its footsteps in the name of achieving carbon neutrality.
The smartphone’s exterior was designed by renowned industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa, who has a direct connection with the ‘suitcase’ design of the Realme GT Master Edition. The design of the GT 2 Pro is officially dubbed Paper Tech Master Design, as the author was inspired by the paper texture styling solution.
The flagship has received a redesigned NFC module that operates in a 360-degree circle, so the entire top half of the device will identify the NFC signal.
Another innovation of the smartphone was a hexagonal sensor (“fish-eye”), which has a viewing angle of 150 degrees. The manufacturer reports a 20% increase in field of view. It is claimed that the improved sensor will provide enhanced visual impact and improve the quality of the depth of field. Astrophotography (night sky photography function) will be available at the same time.
The smartphone has an eight-layer cooling system and measures heart rate via an under-screen fingerprint scanner. The 3216×1440 dots display is based on LTPO generation 2 technology, which enables a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. At the same time, adjustments will be available according to the user’s preferences. The RAM capacity is 8GB, ROM at least 128GB.
Another innovation of the Realme GT 2 Pro is the 12-antenna matrix system, which will appear in the smartphone for the first time. The company promises improved speeds on 5G networks and a 20% faster Wi-Fi experience.
The gadget supports 48 major frequency bands across the planet and is capable of working correctly on cellular networks in over 150 countries. The smartphone also provides better connectivity in the presence of weak signal.
More details about the new product are to be revealed by the manufacturer during its presentation. However, when it will happen and how long to wait for the announcement, Realme did not say exactly. It is known that the innovative device will debut no later than the Spring Festival, which will be held on 1 February 2022.
